Title: 4 Months post op tenderness and pain..
Post by: robbiepapenfus on March 09, 2006, 09:31:21 AM
Hi guys,

I had a complex tear of my lateral menisus and had an op about 4 months ago. The op went well.. there is no more clicking in my knee.

The last few weeks I have been playing indoor football. The morning after my games, the area where the meniscal tear was is VERY VERY tender and sore. The tenderness and pain normally goes away after a day or so.

Do you have any idea what could be causing this tenderness and pain in the area I had my meniscal tear? I have quite a competive football season coming up. I start on the 2nd of may. So that give me just under 2 months before i start training at a very competive level.

In the mean time what would you suggest?
1: No indoor football for the next 2 months?
2: Anti inflammatories and icing after indoor games?

Your hel pwould be GREATLY appreciated.

Regards,

Robbie

The floor indoors are often very hard...maybe that's causing this pain.Have you wellbuilt shoes ?
If I were you I would cut back on it a bit and try get more muscle strenght around the knee.
I don't think this will be bad for your outdoorseason.
Wish you best of luck !!

Thanks for the advice.

Yeh you right, the indoor court is very hard. Its strange, during the game my knee feels 100%, its only the next day that if feels so sore and tender.

Cheers,

Robbie
