Title: recent knee surgery torn meniscus
Post by: mary c on January 30, 2006, 07:36:54 PM
I had surgery last Thrusday (1/26) to repair a torn medial meniscus which I think happened during the marathon on jan 16.
I am walking on it and feel fine except my knee keeps popping and if I leave my leg down off the chair for any length of time, I get a strange burning sensation behind the knee (maybe that is where he repaired it and it is the stitches).  I have my three holes in the front.  I know you are going to say call the doc and I have left a message, I just thought someone could shed some light and has had the same thing.  I am icing constantly.

Hello Mary,

Well I'd think that to be pretty normal as the athroscopy is'nt quite an non-invasive procedure in itself and that I think you must be doing well if these are your only complaints. I read that it would take between 6 and 8 weeks for the sutured meniscus to heal, from which you can push a little harder no matter whether medial or lateral.
