Title: Activity after ACI for active people
Post by: ijustski on January 30, 2006, 04:51:12 PM
I'm 34 yrs. old and very active skiing, mnt. biking, and running. I recently blew my ACL and had surgery last week. I have a ACI (Femoral medial and lateral) surgery Sched for first week of April.

I was told the succes rate for this is 94% based on my injuries.  I'm curious when I can mtn. bike again, ski, light ski? pow ski only?  I know this is a 12 months recovery but many have returned to activity within this time frame.  Curious if any skiers or mtn. bikers out there have experienced this ACI surgery and came back to activity?
Very curious and worried about recovery. Doc said no skiing for a year but he also knows that I jump a lot and is worried I can't refrain from this. I haven't discussed mtn. biking with him yet.  My lessions are small to average.
