Title: How much help?
Post by: ginih on July 04, 2005, 07:31:12 PM
I am scheduled for a bilateral TKR Sept 13 and am starting to get a handle on what to expect, especially in terms of how much help I will need after surgery.  I live in an apartment with an elevator  - so stairs aren't an issue - but my husband works/travels constantly so I'm planning to get a practical nurse to help out when I get home.  Does anyone have any input on what kind of help I'll need and for how long I'll need it?  Fortunately, expense isn't an issue.  I'm usually not very self-indulgent, but I'd like to really pamper myself when it comes to this.

Getting nervous in Chicago....

Hi hope all goes well for your surgery on Sept 13th.  If you go to the Arthritis Dept and look for 'total knee replacement' - you should find other people that have had the same procedure.

Good luck to you,
