well hey thanks for all of you who responded to my last post. my left acl is gone thats basically it but im going to play football without an acl and a brace instead  :) ..... theres a few pros playing without an acl, and i was wondering what some of your thoughts are on whether i should play or not.... i havent had knee pain for a long time i was a lineman/kicker i dropped about
40-50 lbs just to take pressure off the knee.... so what are some thoughts and does the weight thing actually take pressure off my knee and make a difference? and one more thing im seeing a chiropractor whos putting my leg back into place, getting me used to using it like i used to,evenly so thats good also...thanks all

Ask this question on Cruciate ligaments in the specialist's office instead and I'm sure you get better feed back.

my best advice, make sure you get a brace that fits like a glove. if you don't then you will experience shifting inside of your brace (if the brace is a tad bigger) and then you might as well not even have a brace on. the rep who sold me my brace didn't really care or knew this and was only concerned about her sale, obviously. I had my knee buckle with my brace on  so many times, I finished destroying my meniscus and messed up other ligaments as well.  I should had gotten a custom brace, even if it costed a few hundred more.
