Quads tendon rupture is rupture of the tendon of the quadriceps muscle above the patella.
Without the integrity of the extensor mechanism the patient cannot fully extend the leg.
How do you rupture your quads tendon?
The quads tendon may rupture upon lifting heavy loads, for example in weightlifters. Anabolic steroids often taken by weightlifters to increase muscle bulk may aggravate the problem.
