The condyle of the femur bone (or femoral condyle) is the rounded lower end on each side of the femur bone.

The condyle is covered with articular cartilage, which is vulnerable to damage.
Intercondylar notch
Between the two rounded condyles is the intercondylar notch, enclosing the two important cruciate ligaments.
