KNEE ARTHRITIS - Total Knee Replacement :

I am due for TKR - - Posted by bernieboy31 (bernieboy31), 24 February 2004

Hi people  Smiley

I have had OA in left knee for some years and it's now time for TKR!!

The OS has been extremely honest and has mentioned a number of times about the dangers but believes that the risks are far outweighed by the long term benefits.

I was told a week in hospital and approx 6 weeks off work.

Thanks to the company's BUPA scheme I can go "private" and plan on having the op just after Easter as the UK weather should be a bit warmer and I  can hopefully potter about in the garden doing light work such as planting seeds etc.  Wink

Many many thanks for all the previous postings regarding TKR, the dangers and comments on rehab - They have been very encouraging and helped to dissipate some of my worries Grin

Any more tips/tricks welcomed  Tongue

Cheers
Bernie

Good luck!  Kiss You'll do fine!  Wink

I get a second opinion from OS tomorrow.  Huh I'v had OA for over 20 years, looking at OS's to get the best I can find.  I'm hopping for sometime after Easter also.

Keep us posted on your progress, We care.  Smiley
