KNEE ARTHRITIS - Injections into the joint :

3rd  and last injection today YEA!!! - - Posted by missmyknee (missmyknee), 21 August 2003

Had my 3rd and last injection today. It was better than last week, could it be that my OS was back in town and has better technique? He gave it just below the first shot. I'm sore and have that uncomfortable pressure under the patella again. I'm sure it will last 2 days as before. OS said in about 3-4 weeks is when I should see improvement if this is going to work. So now it's wait and see time.

Pam,
I'm happy your third shot was not as painful. Thats the same as it was for me that second shot was a lu-lu. I will be having my second go around starting this week in my left knee, insurance finally approved it. I hope you get some benefit from the shots.

Hi Sheila

Thanks for your well wishes! I had that pressure again for 2 days now it's back to the regular pain I feel. Dr told me I won't start to see results til about the 3-4 week after 3rd shot if it will work.

I wish you all the luck next week on your first shot. I hope you don't experience too much pain. At least you know what to expect---I don't know if that's a good thing or not!!!!!!! Let me know

Pam,

How is your knee doing after three Synvisc injections in August?  Do you feel better or the same as you did prior to injections?  Knowing what you know, would you do them again?

Kinda wished I had read this board before I decided to have these injections - don't think I would have gone thru with it.

Hi Julie

I am 3 wks post my last synvisc injection. According to my doc it would be in week 3-4 that I should start to see improvement IF it is going to work. So far I haven't noticed any change. I feel my problem is that my patella needs to be raised up higher. I think thats what the doc plans on doing if this doesn't help. Knowing now how it feels would I  do it again....Yes..I always hold hope that something is going to work and I will do anything to get this knee right. Are you contemplating these injections?

Pam
