KNEE ARTHRITIS - Autologous chondrocyte implantation (A.C.I.) :

MACI Recovery - - Posted by JulianUK (JulianUK), 29 September 2003

I am now at 7 weeks post-op and so far the rehab and PT has been going very well.
However I have developed a clicking in my knee that is making it sore and is stopping me from doing various exercises, especially leg extensions.
Has anyone else suffered similar?, is it anything to worry about or not?

Please advise,

Julian.

Hello Julian,

Congrats on getting to 7 weeks!

It is very possible that you are having knee cap tracking problems due to a lack of the VMO. I know that I sure did. It took me a few months to get that pesky thing to work right. Once it started working, almost all of the clicking quit, and everything felt much better.

Hang in there!

Linda,

Thanks for this advice, it's exactly what my PT said today. He's given me a couple of extra exercises to do to start working my VMO and help with tracking.

Keep in touch,

regards,

Julian.

Hello Julian,

i am glad that you are able to work on you VMO. Try not to get frustrated if it takes a bit. I felt like I had been working on that darn thing forever and nothing was happening. Suddenly it just started working. I still have a ways to go on it, but at least I feel like there is something there to work on.

Keep at it, and I hope things go well!
Linda
