Rheumatoid Arthritis (and its variants) :
my knees and ankles - - Posted by schoolgirl (schoolgirl), 7 February 2004
Hi, this is my first time here. I have hurt so bad for several years now with back pain but the knee pain got so bad.I went to a bone Dr,. and he said I have torn ligaments and also the blood tests show lupus so he sent me to the hospital and the same thing.Well, they send me to a rhumatoligist and he put me on celebrex and I think it helps some but I still have so much pain and so tired. I get so sleepy I lay down an hour after lunch and its getting hard for me to get up and down. This Dr. calls it degenerative disease and not lupus because he says I dont have any other organs defected right now that he can see. If I have pain, tired, and a butterfly redness on my face, and my two big toe nails are blue color that is weired, and I have mouth ulcers and panic attacks, depression, and joint muscle pain there is something wrong if all the blood tests show lupus. That is what I dont understand. Can anyone help me out?

Hey !!
What you need is first a good doc which you can relay on, then you also need support from others having this disease. I have a heard a bite of this disease and I've understand that everyone react in his/her special way with different sympthoms. Did your doc not give you any new appointment for further check-up ? If not go back and get more information and someone to talk to who knows more about it. I'm sure there will be patientgroups where ever you even live in the world. One in my nearest area have this and live a pretty good life. Wish you luck. Feel free mail me whenever you want to.

Lupus is a autoimmune disease in which the bodies tissues basically attack themselves.
It need to be carefully monitored and managed. It's important to have a good knowledgeable doctor, who can help you to manage your condition. I imagine that you are very tired and in alot of pain. I have friends who live with lupus. It's a difficult diagnosis but if you get a competant medical team helping you, it can be managed and you can be more compfortable, I would get back to your doctor and get some of these things sorted out.
good luck, Hugs and Hope
