Overuse problems of the knee :

Can older adults get Osgood Schlatter's? - - Posted by Txygrl (Txygrl), 9 January 2005

I am 61 years old, and have been walking 3.5 miles a day for the last year as part of a weight-loss program.  I have developed knobs below my kneecaps which sound like the description of Osgood Schlatter's.  The left one is painful, and I cannot kneel on it without a pillow.  I do not want to stop walking - I just got a treadmill for the winter months - but I will be needing these knees for a few more years.  Any input?

You should go to your GP and get this checked out and then get a referral to an orthopedic surgeon to be assessed.

I found this article and it might help you:

Hope this helps.

I appreciate your help - I'll see what my GP has to say.
