Bone breaks around the knee :

Help w/patella fracture - - Posted by jerrymhg (jerrymhg), 11 January 2005

Has anyone else had a patella fracture( very minute displacement w/no tendon or ligament involvement) who didn't require surgery as I didn't?  It has been 6 weeks now- I am out of my immobilizer- starting some exercises at home the Dr. showed me - any feedback someone can help me with? thanks

Hi Jerry - I hope you enjoy posting with us!!

We have several knee fractures who will give you excellent advice. There is also a thread someone started not too long ago about a month or so ago so you may want to search back through the topics and read the replies - those may help you, too.

Again, I just wanted to wish you well and welcome you aboard!!  Grin

Thanks- yes everything has been very helpful- and I can see that almost every fracture is a bit different in its treatment.

You are sooooo right about that, Jerry - that is even true with TP breaks, especially when you get into damaged muscle tissue, torn tendons and ligaments, lost cartillage, etc. Fortunately, I didn't have any of those problems with my break, so I was very blessed.

At any rate, I wish you all the best in your recovery!  Grin

Hi, Jerry!

Welcome aboard.

How are you feeling? It's good news that your doctor has given you the go-ahead with exercises. I recommend physical therapy to anyone who has been injured. I cannot imagine doing it on my own.
