23 DAYS POST-OP - - Posted by NoMoreOuchyOuch (NoMoreOuchyOuch), 7 August 2004

Went to my OS Thursday and he was shocked
and said he was so proud and amazed about my recovery. Also , went to 5th visit with PT today and she was also ELATED. The OS said I must be a God or something...
I am 23 days post-op and was having a hard time at first , the first week was heck , but this week I woke up and there was NO MORE Pain.. Who Hoooo! My OS and PT said it would be a long while before I could get back my range of motion and my bending would come alone and the muscle would start to work later with exercise, Well the reason they are quite shocked is I have FULL RANGE OF MOTION 23 DAYS POST-OP & Have no pain and very little if any of swelling and no cruthces , no brace no anything and it feels so great. I still need to becareful but I am 100% better and so happy with my progress. I do all my heelslides and so forth and do not regret having my Surgery anymore. I had no idea I would do so so well. I feel like I am in tip top shape,
and look forward to skating again soon. At first they told me I would have to wait 9-12 months and now they are talking about maybe 6-8 months. I am so excited to be able to bend my leg and push it straight out and move it ll around... It looks like a skinny leg though , I think it lost alot of weight I worked out on weights for almost two months before my Surgery and now I gotta skinny leg and a fat one... haha! Anyways , just thought I would let you all know that my frown has been turned upside down.
I'm Happy! And I went and hung out with my friends and watched them skateboard, I worked the Video Camera. haha!

That's so good to hear!!
I'm incresingly expecting something similar to be on my horizon - only awaiting OS at the mo but GP started the ball rolling suggesting arthroscopy.
So glad things are good for you, don't be tempted to do something very silly (I don't know, like attempt a no-hands-cartwheel like the last time I did mine in - that was annoying and I kicked myself with my good knee afterwards!)
So be a little sensible but enjoy your lovely fully functional knee!!!!!
