Collateral Ligaments and other non-cruciate tendons & ligaments around the knee :

PLEASE HELP - - Posted by kevc (kevc), 20 January 2005

I had ACL reconstructive surgery two and a half years ago (patella tendon graft).  I was  assaulted approx 4 mnts ago and injured the knee again.  My knee is very painful to kneel on.  I have pain down the left side of my left knee.  This pain radiates down my hamstring and calf muscle.  My knee is also very painful if i bend it back too far or if I do stretches on my left leg.

Although very painful stability is good.  Initially when I injured it after the assault it swole up pretty bad and I had restricted mobility for a couple of days.

After the assault I saw the OS.  He did not seem very concerned about it.  He was happy with knee stability and muscle development.  It is still very sore to kneel or bend.  My remedial sports therapist thinks I injured my T-band.  I suspected lateral collateral ligament damage.  The OS ruled out the latter through clinical examination.  Does anyone know what could be wrong with my knee.  I have a big medical for a job soon and i'm worried I will fail it.
