Hypermobility and Healing - - Posted by kgerasimon (kgerasimon), 16 April 2004

Hi Y'all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of any special considerations, exercises, or treatments that folks with joint hypermobility can do in order to speed healing of injuries. I've been diagnosed with a grade 1 MCL strain, but is has been hanging on for months and doesn't seem to be improving no matter what I try. I think that my joint hypermobility might be contributing to the problem. Do I just need to completely rest it for a very long time, or is it better to do muscle strengthening exercises, biking, physical therapy, etc?

I'd appreciate any advice on how to manage this condition and speed the healing. thanks!

kira
