Cruciate ligaments :

Faulty ACL graft placement - - Posted by Andrealmga (Andrealmga), 8 April 2003

I have had 3 knee surgeries, last one 3 years ago and just recently found out that the ACL graph was done incorrectly.  My knee never did heal correctly.  My doctor today told me that all he could "offer" me was a brace to wear until I was "old" enough for a knee replacement.  He won't do a replacement because of the limitations I have with bending my knee (97 degrees bent, 16 straight) due to the wrong placement of the screws.  This is the second new doctor I have seen.  The first doctor just said that I was too young (47) to have that much wrong with my knee.  I have no idea where to turn now.....he doesn't even want to see me again....told me my knee was in terrible condition and he couldn't help.  Any suggestionsHuh?
Thanks Andrea

Try posting your question down below in the "Cruciate ligaments" section.  It sounds like you need to see another surgeon to see what other options you have.  And 47 is not too young for a knee replacement...several here on this board are younger and have had this done.

You will probably get more replies by posting in the appropriate section down below.
