KNEE ARTHRITIS - Injections into the joint :

Prolotherapy for the knee? - - Posted by gr8fit (gr8fit), 26 April 2004

Hi,

Has anyone had prolotherapy injections for the knee?  I have chondromalacia and advanced stages of OA.  I did 4 rounds (12 needle injections into the knee  once a month for 4 months) of prolotherapy this past summer. The theory is to aggrivate the area to promote scar tissue growth to stablize surrounding ligaments.  It actually seemed to help me.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this?

Thanks!

No experience to offer but I have seen some very encouraging reports on the treatment on an american web site( search on prolotherapy, Caring Medical, Dr Hauser ). My impression is from their reports that you've not had enough treatment yet.

My problem is finding a UK practitioner to perform the treatment. Where did you go?
