The patello-femoral joint :

mal tracking question - - Posted by kld (kld), 22 January 2005

how do you know if your are maltracking? i'm having horriible clicking and popping...but after arthroscopy, well known knee specialist says i am not mal tracking. what does subluxation feel like? could the clicking i'm feeling be subluxations?  if doc was inside my knee and says not mal tracking should i rest assured it's something else?

Hey kld!!!

Well, technically subluxing is a form of maltracking.  So, if you aren't maltracking then you most likely aren't subluxing.

But....you know your body better than anyone.  If something doesn't feel right then I would definitely get another opinion.  Try to find someone that specializes in patellofemoral issues.  They should be able to tell you for sure if is a tracking issue then.
