KNEE ARTHRITIS - Injections into the joint :

?synvisc prior to UKR? - - Posted by tiz_onleemee (tiz_onleemee), 17 January 2004

Hi, I've just found this site- isn't google wonderful?

I am on the waiting list (UK _NHS) for UKR on L medial.
If that goes well, then similar to R will probably occur soon after.

My Dr at the Pain Clinic has suggested synvisc, as a possible delaying tactic - I'm 46 - and/or a way of helping my R knee through the recovery of my L knee.

My OS thinks synvisc is nasty stuff, and would not reccommend its use.

How do I know whose advice to follow?
Huh

I wouldn't call it nasty but if you're bone on bone the chances are slim that it will work. Even then it doesn't work much of the time. It didn't work for me at all. One of my shots was extremely painful, another was just painful and one wasn't too bad.
