Joint hypermobility disorders :

Not sure bout this.. - - Posted by ozzybug (ozzybug), 27 March 2004

Hey guys-
I recently saw some information as well as pictures of people with hypermobility and although I never thought that the way I can hyperflex just about every joint in my body, I realized from seeing all that information that I am hypermobile.  I don't dislocate like alot of those people do though, so I guess this is a good thing.

My question is this- I saw in several places that people who have hypermobility issues sometimes tend to have higher risks of post-op complications including the pain and swelling that seem to go on for ever.

Should I tell my OS about this before my surgery on Friday?  Could this play some part in the problems (other than the scar tissue) that have been going on with this knee?

It could have absolutely no bearing on any of this, but hey, I had to ask

Thank you in advance for any help!

Its worth it because if something goes wrong you could reck your op (ive done it b4) or if you dont tell your OS then just be aware your self

Hey Lezlee !!

Of course you should tell your doc about it. Everything which can be important for your surgery or recovery how little it may be you need to tell.
Good luck on friday !!
