Overuse problems of the knee :

Osgood-Schlatter's Disease - - Posted by Michelle_Grabert (Michelle_Gr), 19 March 2003

HEY, I just wanted to say that I have noticed that a lot of new people have been coming to the board lately with questions about Osgood-Schlatter's Disease.  I just wanted to say that if anyone has any questions that I have OSD and I have done a lot of research, talked to a top specialist, and talked to a lot of people who have it or have had it, so I can probably answer many of your questions accurately.  So, I thought that maybe we could just have a small topic where people can just offer their help, if they know a lot about a certain knee problem.  Just trying to help Smiley!!!!
    Good Luck to everybody!!!!!

Like Michelle, I've had lots of experience with OSD and have done some research on it, so if anyone ever has a question, please ask away!  I had a particularly severe (3 yrs more on than off of immobilization and crutches), young (age 10 onset), and unusual (female, active but not particularly athletic in organized sports) case, and I'd be happy to share my experiences if they'll help someone else.

And Michelle... I'd love to hear more about what the specialist said.  I had a good specialist in Michigan, but I'm interested in how things have changed.

Cheers,
Barb Smiley
