Joint hypermobility disorders :

Odd Bods are having a rough time I see - - Posted by Shazinoz (Shazinoz), 25 July 2003

Yes I am one of the Odd Bods that seem to be going through a rough time at the moment. I do not know WHY so many of our bodies seem to have taking a sudden turn for the worse and DO hope that is temporary and NOT long lasting. I hope that our bodies soon settle down into there own "normals' or even better into a newer BETTER normal.
I hope that everyone is finding ways of coping pain wise with these odd changes.
Maybe we could start an ODD Bod thread on way and means we have founf to help relieve boredom, pain and most other things our odd bods throw at us. Seeing as how our bodies seem to react differently to the norm due to the HEDS/HMS etc problems.

I agree, Its so weird that most of us are having a hrad time, maybe that is so that we will all understand what everyone else is going through and be able to offer geniune support and get genuine support (not that it isnt genuine at othere times but I hope you know what i meant).  I also hope that these changes are definatly temporary!!!  I know I have started to find a way to deal with pain but am expieriencing side effects from it that arent very desierable (a/d's causign lightheadedness).  Ill definatly be checking out hte other thread Smiley

Oh god are we odd bods ever having a rough patch.  I've been feeling quite lousy with nausea and digestive problems I won't gross you all out with here...  Cry  I guess the odd bod gremlins have taken a new, less obvious approach of slowly making us feel worse and worse and worse instead of their previous more traumatic ways.  Hmm...  Hey Sharon, maybe our s-dogs will scare away the gremlins?  LoL Wink

Lets hope that we all feel much better soon.

(((hugs)))

Having a rough time here too...   I wonder if it is because it's summer and we're outside and we're more active than in the winter?  Other than that I'm not sure, except for me... I've been taking West Coast swing classes for the last 2 months, and it's really taking a toll on my knees and ankles.  I'm sure dance classes aren't the best for me, but I figured since I was in a good way for a long time, I might as well try it and have some fun.  Well, it has been fun and I wish I could keep it up.  My left knee pain has gotten progressively worse and I've been having right knee and right ankle pain as well. Looks like it's time to head to the doctor for another checkup, although I know the only thing she's going to say is that the next step is scoping.  Sad

I can't blame summer here as it IS WINTER here.
I honestly don't know why we all seem to be havig such a rough time at present but maybe it is time for a worldwide Odd Bod gremlin round up and lock up. This way the gremlins can't add to our problems.
I wish I could make everybodies bodies settle down just with a word, as then we would all fell somewhat better.
My left side ribs and shoulderblade caused antoher myoclonic episode yesterday (a BAD one this time) that scared me (I was in my osteopaths consulting rooms so do have a witness) we are working now on distracting my body when these episodes occur to see if this (making my body do certain things) will stop the involuntary movements (i.e. Myoclonic jerks) they statrted out just upper body and then went full body leaving me weak and feeling vague and lightheaded and TIRED.
