NOTES - Your success stories :
life after fixator removal - - Posted by lam651 (lam651), 6 October 2003
After 6 1/2 mos. of having a couple pounds of metal bolted to my leg, I'm starting to feel like me again. I can sleep again and I'm not banging my fixator off of the door jams, walls and furniture.
The fixator was installed in Mar. to fix a HTO tibial non-union. I still have more bone to grow so it isn't over, but this is the best my leg has felt since the HTO was done over 2 yrs. ago. A big step no doubt.
Good luck to everyone in their ongoing knee battles. Larry

Larry
What wonderful news!! Your leg must feel like it's been liberated from jail. There's nothing like getting a good nights sleep after so long. Good luck in your continued recovery

Larry,
I don't know what a Fixator is but it sure sounds like it was a burden! I'm glad you're free of it
I'm also glad this is the best you've felt in over 2 yrs. and that you're getting good sleep now. Sometimes I think good sleep really helps the healing process. If I'm wrong it sure sounds logical to the spouse and kids " I need my sleep, the Dr. said it was important" Maybe that's why I'm doing better
Tee Hee Hee! Best Wishes for continued improvement !
