Went to the OS today... - - Posted by Mandy (Mandy), 8 January 2005
Hey everyone~
well i had my os appt today. not the news i REALLY wanted...but i guess thats life. well i got in there today, he checked out my knee, said that he doesnt like the pain that is lingering around. also doesnt like the swelling, but was impressed with the ROM. end of the story: looks like my hockey season is basically shot. i have been restricted to PT for yet ANOTHER month. Still two times a day for a month. and only skating for 15-20 min at a time, with no equipment on and no drills.
i dunno why i had such high expectations for this thing and be able to play this year. i just was doing SO good for a long time and then i hit a road block. talk to the coach today. hes really bummed. said that even if i can make it back if we go far into the playoffs they dont know that i could be put on the roster because of my extended absence.
oh well...theres always this summer and next year.
thanks for listen to me ramble
Take Care,
~Mandy

Mandy,
I'm so sorry! Try to keep your chin up though, I know it's hard but we're here for ya! I know how much you love hockey, so when I read this my heart ached, I hate seeing someone not be able to do the thing they love.
The road to recovery is always tough, but I know if anyone can do it though, it's you. You are such a positive inspiration and I'm really glad to have gotten to know you over the past few months.
If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask! I'm here for ya!
Best wishes,
Patricia

thank you all of you who've responded. i really do appreciate it. can't lie...still mad about this hockey season but this challenge only gives me more ambition to work my hind end off at PT. i'll make the best of it and just hope that i'll be able to overcome these little hurddles placed before me.
thank you very much for your support.
