New cream - - Posted by SL99 (SL99), 18 February 2003

Hi all,

Not sure if this is any help to anyone, but I just thought I would mention a new cream that my Mum has been given. She's using it primarily for nerve damage pain, but it's main use is for OA. It's made from red hot chilli peppers - don't worry it doesn't smell honest!! It comes in two strengths and has to be used several times a day for a weeek before it starts really working. I'm currently finding out if I can use it for my joint pain, as i have to be careful with sensetive skin issues.

It's called Zacin, but I'm not sure of it's availabilty in other countries ( it may be that you've already had it and are reading this thinking what is the little goblin on about now!! Wink ) Like I say I don't know if it's any help to any of you but thought it was worth posting about anyway just on the off chance it brings just one person some releif.

Take care..........Jo

Sounds like a cream I tried called Zostrix here in OZ (it was NO good for me because it burned like Fire and after I put the cream on I had to immerse my body part in water (cold water) to stop the intense burning, my body part also looked like it had been immersed in boiling oil.
The product for me here in OZ was called Zostrix HP. and is used to treat shingles and other nerve pains.
Don't now if it is the smae cream or not but this was maid from capscain sp? the hot stuff in chilli's.

This stuff has been around for a while with various different names. My mother-in-law uses it and swears by it, but she swears by anything that she reads in National Inquirer.  My doc told me it might help but to be careful because it burns like crazy. I haven't tried it yet.
