Has anyone tried Bextra tablets for OA?.
How did you get on with them?.

I tried taking Bextra and it was the best NSAID that I have taken. Vioxx did nothing for me and Celebrex made me so anemic... but Bextra for some reason really works for me and has little side affects for me.
FInally.. an okay drug.
Goodluck, thinking of trying htem I guess. I really found that the combination was good too, with the tylenol antiinflam type stuff. Really helped with the inflammation and the pain.
Take care

Pennsaid a topical anti inflammatory drug works pretty well to. It's only for knees.

Thanks for the reply Linds,
I was prescribed Bextra yesterday and was wondering how anyone else got on with them. I also continue with Co-codamol, 6 a day.
I have 1x 20mg a day (only had 1 so far though)
When do you take yours, I took mine before bedtime. With only 1 a day, I dont suppose it matters when they are taken as long as it is the same time each day.
How long have you been taking them for?.
Thanks again,
Heather

A few months I have been taking them Heather, I take them at lunch.. cause I find that in the morning they can make my tummy feel squishy..so I tried taking htem at lunch and they seem to work great.
Goodluck, I noticed a difference within days
when I started to take them

I have taken Celebrex for the last two years. At one point we switched to Bextra, but the Celebrex worked better, so we switched back. All three (Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra) are the same kind of medicine, but they work differently for different people. If Bextra doesn't work well for you, try the other two. Many find better results with one than the others.

Hi,
I've tried Bextra, Celebrex and Vioxx over the past year. Vioxx worked, but gave me bad leg swelling. I got headaches and nausea from Bextra (and it didn't work). Celebrex works great for me, so of course, my insurance won't pay for it

Hi HK/Wales -
I tried Bextra also as one of the many meds I tried in an effort to curb the pain I have. It didn't work at all - but I have heard from several friends of mine (amazing how many of us there are with knee pain) and a few of them really like the Bextra a lot.
Good luck with it!

Well, I've been taking the Bextra for almost 2 weeks now. The 1st 4 or 5 days I was really headachy, grumpy and had a churned up belly. The pain did'nt ease.
I stuck with them and now the headaches have virtually gone and my belly is OK. The pain has eased alot and I am pleased so far.
Thank you all for your replies,
Take care,
Heather
