Patella Dislocate + Chondral Fracture.... - - Posted by yr99jparkin (yr99jparkin), 2 January 2005

I’m 16 years old and a competitive cycle racer, I play football, cross country running, fell running and compete in all sorts of sports.

I am tremendously active, and unfortunately managed to dislocate my left knee-cap playing football (12/10/2004).

Went to volley the ball (VERY HARD) and suddenly...unexpectedly...my upper body turned very quick and my flat planted foot and knee didn’t, the resultant force acted on my knee.

I dislocated it and suffered a small osteochondral fracture.

After fantastic surgery (arthroscopy) performed by Leeds rugby OS and physiotherapy at BUPA Leeds I am back to normal
(2/1/2005).

I am playing football great, cycling (competitively) and going skiing in March !

I am so pleased with my progress and hope that everyone else that suffers from the hell of knee injuries has as good a recovery as me,

James
