KNEE ARTHRITIS - Total Knee Replacement :

Why so different???????(some ranting) - - Posted by enuff81020 (enuff81020), 27 August 2003

Hi!

My os and I have been really hashing this question out a lot lately about my tkrs...My left one was obviously a straightforward and easy procedure.  It is fine and I'm so relieved that I did it.  My left knee was a long time source of incredible pain for me.

My latest has been a nightmare of unbelieveable proportions.  Poor pain management, lack of and loss of rom--extension being the big worry, the need for a manipulation and another hospital stay gone wild, more problems--an infection in the site oif a femoral block.  PT is a nightmare as well--and I'm making little progress again.  The manipulation stirred things up a bit and helped considerably but things are stalling out on me again.

I had the same os, the same assisting os, the same hospital, the same pt source--so what is the deal with all of this?  I'm back to considering removing this leg with kitchen tools again, it is driving me nuts...  I want my life back and I want the pain to leave me alone.  ugh

Thanks for listening to this spouting off...Sylvia
