i had an lr done october 7th things were going great till i went back to work. i am an infant, toddler teacherSmiley. a week before x-mas i fell on a toy in the class room. although i did not hit my knee it hurt so bad. it swelled so bad. ever since than i have been getting a sharp sharp pain in my knee. (right one) not my lr side. it hurts for about 30 sec. than stops. i take ib profin for it and it does nothing for my knee. i also have the crunching back in my knee also. . the spot that it really hurts is where my portal is where they did the surgery. and the bottom of my knee. what is wrong with me? i made an appointment but can't get in for another 2 weeks. should i be worried. really can't take time of from work. i also can't walk down stairs. i have to kind of hop and skip if u know what i mean. just need some help Huh

I'm not sure what could be going on with your knee. But you should probably take it easy and rest it as much as you can and use lot's of ice...goodluck when you get back in to see your os

I work at a day care, and after my LR I fell at work too.  It swelled and was painful in the same area you are describing.

The good thing about an LR is that you can really hurt anything because the surgery doesn;t involve repairing anything.  However your muscles are weak so you are much more unstable.

It turns out when I fell i did two things.  One, I tore my meniscus.  it sounds bad, but it was just a small tear and has healed on its own (that caused some locking and cracking and pain on the botton medial side of my knee.

What I also did was tear a lot of scar tissue.  Altough it was VERY painful at the time, tearing through all the scar tissue ended up speeding up my recovery.

Like Linds said, rest and ice and give it some time.  I also didn;t see my OS for two weeks after my fall and everything turned out ok.

Take care, ~Patti

Please let me know what he says...I don't go to the Dr. for another 2 weeks.  It would be nice to hear what your Dr. says to see if I really need to move up my appt. or something.
Keep me posted and good luck!
