hi,  new here, and just about to have an acl reconstruction in feb    

partial tear of  acl playing rugby, followed by bucket handel tear, and medial menisectomy.


knee still no good so OS has suggested an acl reconstruction using over the top technique, with the fascia lata.  

non of the research i can find seems to refer to the use of the fascia lata......is it a valid method.

also, following surgery, will be in cast for a couple of weeks, followed by minimal use for several further weeks.    this seems to contradict all reports i have seen suggesting flexing as soon as feasible. is this normal

hoping someone with similar op/method can provide guidance.

any info much appreciated
