The patello-femoral joint :

Could this mean VMO advancement? - - Posted by sjugradgirl (sjugradgirl), 17 January 2005

Hey all,
As a lot of you know I am goign in for TTT, LR, scar clean up and something else a week from today.

My question is, my OS said he was going to do something to the soft tissues at the top of my knee.  I don't remember the exact words he used.  I have been doing research, it is possible that he could be refferring to a VMO advancement?j

Just wondering.
He is on vaca this week so I wont see him until the day of my surgery. I guess I could ask him then, (I actually have a lot of questions to ask him) but i am just wondering what your thoughts are.

thanks.

Hi

It could be a VMO advancment or Medial reefing which sometimes goes along with a LR at times.

Goodluck with the surgery

Is there anyway you could call his office and maybe have someone check out your chart to let you know in advance?

It could be a VMO advancement, but it could also be a lot of other things.  I know you must be anxious not knowing, I know I would be going stir crazy!!!!

Hi there!

My first guess would be a LR as that is very common to do with the TTT... that is if you need it.  The other soft tissue work would be the medial reefing or VMO.  Just call your doc,  you have alot on your mind now and it is best to sort it all out so you have a clear idea of what is going on!

See ya around.
