Patella tendon split - - Posted by Simon (Simon), 8 November 2003

I have a split along the length of my patella tendon which is the result of a very old injury (when I was 13 and I'm now 2Cool. The tendon is in two pieces - one abot 2cm wide and one about 7mm wide. I'd like to find information about this kind of injury - and what I can do, if anything, to help it.

I took up weight training to strengthen it years ago and have ended up damaging the cartilage behind my knee cap. I've now had the cartilage operated on and that's cleaned up as much as possible.

The tendon still aches after all this time and I was wondering if there's anything I can do to help that part of the damage to my knee. Maybe not, but I might as well look into it while I'm here.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Simon
