Bone breaks around the knee :

Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM - - Posted by exoman (exoman), 21 January 2005

As previous topic stated, I am recovering from severely fractured tibial plateau with some cartiledge damage.  When I was cycling heavily some years ago and having hip pain, I used a supplement from GNC that contained all three components.  (glucosamine, chondroitin, and msm)  It DEFINITELY helped my hip.  My understanding is that one rebuilds cartiledge, one lubricates, and i'm not sure what the msm does.  Should I restart this or use one or another of the components during my knee rehab?

I use that combination in liquid form.  They have a month supply at Sams club for 19.99.  My doctor says he recommends it, even though it still not for certain if it helps.

My OS says it does help, so I have been taking the capsule form of Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, and Omega 3/6 Fatty Acids. I am also taking a calcium supplement (I tried the liquid form of Glucosamine, but it seemed as though it didn't do much more for me than the tablets which I could purchase for much less). Hope that helps! Grin

Hi, I use the MSM with Glucosamine cream and find it good.  I massage it into my leg muscles and it does seem to help me.  I am allergic to sulfa if I take it internally so this product works for me.

Good luck to you.  Wink
