Overuse problems of the knee :

Is this possible? - - Posted by Benchcentric (Benchcentric), 12 November 2004

At the age of 17 i was diagnosed with OS, while in the USMC. I played and lettered in 5 sports in High School. I have always been a competative person. That was from 1988-91 and was diagnosed in 1992. I had to take off for over 7 years from sports and my general health started to get poorer and poorer so i went back to the gym. For 4 years i did very light leg work and didn't push things mostly out of fear that the pain would return. During that 4 years i became a competative Bench Presser. Becoming the top ranked Drug Free Bench Presser in the US in 2000 & 2001. In 2002 i won the World Championships. After this i wanted to expand my lifting in competitiion so i began to squat with heavier weight and have had no knee pain.
This leads to my question? Is it possible for the Lumps that were on the patella insertion point to slowly disappear? My lump on my left knee has disappeared to sight and the one on my right is about half of the size it used to be. So has anyone ever heard of this happening? In athletes or otherwise?
