The patello-femoral joint :

Check-up on 7-10 - - Posted by anasta5ia (anasta5ia), 11 July 2003

Hey everyone-

I just though I would let you all know how my appt. went today.

Welllllll.........He said that he is concerned about the fact that it is still so swollen, even though I have ice on it at least 6 hours a day.  But he didn''t want to try to drain it since I have so much medial pain.........

He wants me in PT ASAP.  If they don't have an appt. by Monday I need to call him and he "will make sure they get me in"........

I have definitely torn my MCL.  He can tell just based upon my pain and bruising there.......

He thinks that I retore my medial retinaculum when my kneecap dislocated........

And that he hopes it is too soon to tell, but it is probable based on what I have told him that the Fulkerson may have failed but we will try to strengthen it up before we decide what the next step is......

And a partridge in a pear tree.

So as you can tell, I am just sooooo happy.

Oh yeah, but he did say that I can start to put some weight on it.

Also, I have to continue to wear my icky brace because of my MCL.

OK.  I think I have whined enough for one night.

Hi Heather

Glad that you have some diagnosis now.

Not great that there is still swelling but your OS seems like he is in control of it, we hope.

Good luck

Shocked Oh, Heather, that bites! Hope things get under control soon. Maybe the PT will help.  And dont worry about the whining. You're among some very seasoned whiners here. I know I've done my share of it, especially since my last apt!  Grin
