Bone breaks around the knee :
Top surgeon in U.K. dealing with non-union - - Posted by Sarah-Jayne (Sarah-Jayne), 6 November 2003
Hi, I really need to know the name and whereabouts of the top surgeon in the U.K. who deals with non-union patella breaks. I'm having no help from G.P's or even hospitals, this is the second break and the wires are causing so much pain and problems and I think 6 and half years is long enough to have been carted around those who don't have a clue. surely there's someone out there who has the answer. please help

Hello Sarah-Jane,
I see you are looking for a top OS and reccomend Richard Villar who is based in Cambridge UK who was recommended by OS on medical chat line. His website is
http://www.richardvillar.com and could email him to arrange to have a Consultation with him.
I also reccomend Peter Turner at Droitwich Knee Clinic who's South African, not sure if he works for Droitwich Spa Hospital thats in the same building. I looked at Droitwich Knee Clinic Website and does not seem to be on the list of OS's.
Does not have to be him any OS at Droitwich knee Clinic have to be very good OS as its the top Knee Clinic in the UK.
The website address is http://www.kneeclinics.co.uk and will be able to email Droitwich Knee Clinic OS about your knee conditions and sure they can help you.
I have seen Dr Peter Turner and would trust him 100% but costs a lot in Consultations and Treatments so need Medical Insurance cover or be prepared to pay a large amount of money to sort your knees out. His name does not seem to be on thier website but does work at the Clinic still
Hope this has helped you in some way and good luck, let me know how you get on.
Best regards Nick

UPDATE:
I hope the above websites has helped other Members reading this, to take the next step and see a OS that can be trusted 100%. Many well known OS also work in NHS as well as Private.
The follow link is from the Knee Guru website that gives a list of well known names of OS Worldwide.

Hello NIFFTYJULIE,
Glad my posting has been helpful to you and should find a good OS at Droitwich as they all top OS's in UK. They are expensive if you not covered by Medical Insurance and will give the folllowing link of the costs for treatment.
http://www.kneeclinics.co.uk/factsheets/payment_options.html
This is only a ball mark figure's so may cost more or less for treatment. I suppose if you want to be treated by the best then you have to pay more for it.
Best regards, Nick
