The patello-femoral joint :

Protonics - - Posted by Hglick (Hglick), 24 January 2005

Hi there,

I saw this product online called Protonics (http://www.protonics.com/).  I don't think I really want to spend the money on Protonics, but I am hoping to kind of use the information I learned there and apply it my knee problem.

According to the website, knee tracking problems are not always the patella tracking laterally, but rather the femur rotating inward, which makes the patella appear to be tracking more laterally.

The information I gleaned from their website was
-build up my hammies and abdominals

stretch ITB, psaos, and vastus lateralis

Has anyone used Protonics?
Has anyone been diagnosed/treated for inward rotation of femur, if so, what was the treatment?

You should be assessed by an orthopedic knee surgeon who specializes in knees.  The recommendations could be for bracing, taping, PT or surgery.
Four to six months of correct PT can sometimes help with knee conditions and they can also offer ultrasound and acupuncture for pain management.  You should not be doing this stuff on your own without instruction from a certified instructor though...........

If therapy fails you will be sent back to your OS for re-assessment to see if there are any other options that might help.

Hope this helps, check out the knee surgeons on the top of this page......
