Cruciate ligaments :

Pre Op ACL rehab - - Posted by spartanpele (spartanpele), 26 January 2005

I was diagnosed with an acl tear, and a meniscus tear, on my right knee 3 weeks ago.  Since I've been waiting for my meeting with my OS (next week) I've been busy doing rehab knee work (ROM, strengthening, balance, etc.).

Things were going well, but the last couple days I've been having this strange pain on the outside back of my right leg.  The pain seems to be the tendon running alongside in the back between the hamstring and calf area, but specifically along the underside and side of the knee.

Does anyone have a clue what that pain is from?  I think the pain is probably tendonitis from over doing the rehab motions (bending, flexing, quad tightening, squats, one leg balancing, etc.)  I plan on cutting back on the rehab, icing a bit more and then easing back into the rehab routines my PT and I discussed.

If anyone else has some info on that area of the knee (outside, rear of knee), let me know.

thanx...
