Myxoid degeneration of meniscus? - - Posted by alf (alf), 25 January 2005

Hi everyone,

Just hoping someone can help me to explain what my doc's memo means...

he says the latest MRI shows a myxoid degeneration of the body and posterior horn of the right medial meniscus.

also mentioned that i'm developing degeneration of the medial meniscus...

i've checked the net and "myxoid degeneration" seems to say that it's degenerating into a muscus-like thingee... sounds bad, not sure if that's rt.

the OS has told me to stop football and running altogether, or the condition would worsen.

in terms of symptons, I also feel the pain more acutely these days, from the dull, entire-knee numbness in the past to a very sharp pain whenever i'm playing tennis, or mopping the floor...

if someone knows just a little abt what the docs saying, and can help me out here, i'd be so glad...

thanks in advance!

Hey !!

If not anyone can explain here, why not call your doc and ask what this is ? Your doc is there for you to explain what's causing your problems in a language you can understand. Good luck in the future !!
