Meniscus :

update frm pilatesgrl97 - - Posted by pilatesgrl97 (pilatesgrl97), 26 January 2005

Well I had my surgery this past Monday.  I was surprised at how smoothly everything seemed to go. ( I had 20-25% of my lateral meniscus removed)  I feel I am very fourtunate because the surgeon that performed my surgery is known as the best in his field around here-he has done several surgeries on NFL and NHL players.  I had a pretty rough day yesterday -my knee  pain and swelling was alot worse then I had expected and I found out that my stomach cannot handle lortab the hard way. I am 26 years old and love to walk for exercise I was just wondering if anyone out there is around my age and what your recovery experience has been with medium to high impact exercises.  I havent been able to walk w/my leg fully extended for over a year but Im told that PT will help that..also how long did it take you to be able to exercise(I also love to do Pilates)..thanks in advance
