Rheumatoid Arthritis (and its variants) :

Alternative health & RA - - Posted by Iona_-Uk (Iona), 14 April 2003

I've got RA as most of you know & I was diagnosed at 15 (ish).

Because I was quite young the decision was left up to me as to what I wanted to do about meds/treatment. I did decide on taking meds & I take melocicam twice daily & steroids when things are bad.

I went to see a accupuncturist about the RA when I was 17 and he told me the following things can help RA (please if you ant to try anything guys, do seek advice before doing so):

Devils Claw
Evening Primrose
Vitamin E
Glucosamine (not if you have a shellfish allergy)
MOLASSES (YUK but good)

and this drink- it's not for the faint hearted belive me but it works

half an egg cup full of boiled water cooled to drinking temperature, 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of honey & small spoon full (a quarter of a teaspoon will do) of molasses.

Take this twice a day and within 4-5 weeks you will start to notice a difference, the logic is that cider vinegar stops the crystals building up in the first place & this in turn stops them forming in the joint.
