Collateral Ligaments and other non-cruciate tendons & ligaments around the knee :

Coronary Ligaments? - - Posted by Amanda (Amanda), 23 September 2004

Does anyone know anything about the Coronary Ligaments?  I have done a google search and have only been able to find a little bit of info.  This one seems to be the best description I have found.  Has anyone injured theirs?

I found this link, which goes into detail about meniscal injuries and mentions coronary ligaments.

I don't know anyone who has injured this--or at least as far as they knew.  It's a pretty specific body part, not something you hear about a lot...

Here's the quote:
Quote:

The outer edges of each meniscus attach to the tibia by the short coronary ligaments. Other short ligaments attach the ends of the menisci to the tibial surface. The inner edges are free to move because they are not attached to the bone. This lets the menisci change shape as the joint moves. The front portion of the meniscus is referred to as the anterior horn, the back portion is the posterior horn, and the middle section is the body.
