KNEE ARTHRITIS - Total Knee Replacement :

TKR for 37 yr old - - Posted by Stevejw (Stevejw), 17 November 2002

I have previously posted dertails about by knee problems and am now in the "last chance saloon" as I have a TKR scheduled for next Saturday, 23rd. I'm a little anxious, but looking forward to a pain free existence and decent mobility.

I've noticed that other guys have recorded their experiences following surgery in the form of a log. If there is others out there who face a similar predicament as I (young with arthritic knee(s))and would benefit from receiving information about my post-operative experience then let me know and I'll post the info once I get back home.

This is my first post on this site. I'm 43 and pretty sure  I''m going to have a tkr after the first of the year. I would definetly be interested in your progress. Keep it posted! Kevin

Hi,

I had a PKR on October 28th and am looking for my TKR on the other knee on December 16. I can tell you the PKR seemed to be a piece of cake so far. But at the same time I am looking to not gain much ROM just get a little pain relief. With my age they were trying to avoid the TKR on both legs. Well, the right leg has no meniscus left so my tibia and femur are rubbing and slipping against each other.

Good luck and let us know.

Wendy

Steve,

When you get back to your computer I'd love to hear about your progress and experiences with the TKR - I'll be there soon enough and I'm 42.  Hope your surgery went well,

Heron
