The patello-femoral joint :
Now what does this mean??? - - Posted by PattiAnn237 (PattiAnn237), 12 January 2005
I was at work today sitting on the floor with the kids with my legs straight out in front of me. I was looking as my knees, when I realized something was very strange about the bad one. It tracks and is tilted laterally, however, when I sit with my feet pointed straigh in the air my entire knee joint is turned toward the inside of my leg. It looks a lot like a picture someone on here posted with miserable malalignment.
It never did that before, any ideas as to what is going on
Thanks, Patti

Believe me you do not want to join this club. It should be checked out though if you have knee pain. What you described about the kneecaps sitting medially is called squinting patella.
Many have mal-alignment (genetic) but it does not cause any pain symptoms, but if you get painfull knees you had better get your q-angle etc. checked out, but go to knee specialist who treats patellofemoral problems.
PS: there is a post ( page 7 of patellofemoral joint ) on miserable mal-alignment.
