Overuse problems of the knee :

does bursitis cause sharp pain?? - - Posted by casey2291 (casey2291), 14 January 2005

Hi.

I was at my OS last week and the physician assistant mentioned that my bursa on both knees were filled with fluid.  I have a bone bruise or OCD (still to be determined) on my bad knee and have had pain in my good knee for several months.  I am thinking and please correct me if I am wrong that the bursitis in my good knee was caused by overcompensating on it because my bad knee hurt so much.      Can anyone tell me, does bursitis cause sharp pains and how long does it take for it to heal?  Sometimes my good knee feels similar to the bad knee that has the bone bruise.   Any input would be appreciated.
