KNEE ARTHRITIS - Changing the forces through the joint :

Looks like I will be back :P - - Posted by Jennifer (Jennifer), 7 November 2004

I have been away from the board for a while, partly because of workload and partly because of a slow computer...and gratefully because my right knee responded so well to the Roux procedure I had last December.  I have been doing some training for my district (beyond my day job of teaching 1st and 2nd graders) and my school has a fairly large grant we are working with (and under) so we have a lot of training and documentation.  My computer's browser is lagging (I have an older MAC, but with all of my training fees in the bank I will be getting a new Apple in my near future Grin)
I was able to go to Europe this summer for a few weeks and although I got tired very easily and my left knee started acting up I had a great time.  Most of the rest of the summer I was training or being trained...
I am scheduled to have my left knee realigned in December Undecided  Not really what I wanted to be doing for the holidays (ditto for my OS).  I started having some issues in Europe...my knee froze in Hyde Park during the Party in the Park (right after Blue played).  Anyhow when I got home my left knee was being fussy but I thought it was just tired and a little loose from not working out the way I should while I was on holiday, but in August the patella started tilting in a major way  Cry  I ended up in an immobilizer for 10 days and the patella really hasn't shifted back, sooooooooo it seems I will be having a scope and Roux on the left in the very near future  Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue  Hopefully this will be the end of this for a long while though.
So I will be lurking for the next few weeks.  I have looked at my post-op diary and it was a good refresher...amazing how much we forget about these nasty little surgeries.  I will be checking in and catching up...I hope to find that you all are doing better and making progress.

Hi Jennifer,

I know your surgery is coming up soon. I wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and praying that all goes well.

Hugs to you
