Glucosamine supplements vs synflex - - Posted by Witchie (Witchie), 28 June 2004
Does anyone have any experience of using synflex vs normal Glucosamine supplements?
At the moment, I am taking Costco's Kirkland Glucosamine 500mg with Chondroitin 400mg supplements. And am thinking of changing to the Synflex as it has more ingrediants and higher quality. Pricewise there really isnt much difference.
Can anyone advise me please?

I'm not sure whether this is similar. But, I switched my husband from glucosamine supplements (pill-form) to a liquid glucosamine, Symtec's Joint Movement, about a month ago. I read someplace that the liquid form is absorbed better into the body. My husband said it seemed to work better. I got it at Amazon for $9 for 16 oz bottle (free shipping for order over $25).

I've tried synflex off and on for about 9 months. Off an on because I'm pretty bad about taking medication in general. I had microfracture sugrery back in oct 2002 and had tried glusocmaine type pills (cheap stuff and expensive stuff) and really didn't see any effect. I was off an on with them as well. I had pretty bad left knee to begin with - runing, basketball, etc just alot of use. So the microfracture. Rehab and getting back to 100% was tough. Before the surgery I was probably about 60% of what I was able to do without the knee problems. And after the surgery for awhile I was about 30-40% percent, i'm probably about 80% right now, 85-90% of a good day. leg streghnting, stretching, and overall watching what you eat, taking care of yourself is important. I tried synflex because I saw it mentioned here. Went to the website and ordered 3 bottles. Again I was pretty lazy about using it consistgently. But I will say that after a week of consistent use, the following week I could tell my knees would be much better. Then I would go off it for a week or two. But I got the same feeling/results if you will everytime I went on. I'm plannning on sticking to it for a good 3 months...so i'll let you know. But i'm optimistic as I have planned a few tri's, a couple 10k and a marathon for 2005...

Thank you so much for your reply, I know this was posted some time ago. I also have taken it on and off for some time, but this week whilst taking it regularly noticed a huge improvement, I also started to take Celebrex, which has improved things 100%.
Good luck, let me know how you get on
