Munich is a beautiful city, hugging the popular Isar river, and home to a wealth of architecture and culture, as well as being a major shopping venue.

Wherever you come from in the world you will feel accommodated by the staff, who themselves are multinational and multi-linguistic.

Patients fly in from over 60 countries, and the clinic has a shuttle service to collect them and transport them to the Sheraton or a local venue of their choice.

There is a deliberate attempt to remove any discomfort from seeing crutches and wheechairs etc.

Even where the 'clinical' atmosphere is unavoidable, such as the MRI scanner, the rooms simply feel less like a hospital than the average clinic.

The physiotherapy department over the road from the main building is well staffed and operates from a building over the road.

There are hydrotherapy facilities.

The Alpha Klinik clinic is modern in architecture and takes pride in its international approach.

The Clinic is situated a few miles outside of Munich city centre, on the other side of the river in a quiet but sophisticated area, close to a large Sheraton hotel with which the Alpha Klinik has a close relationship.

The Alpha Klinik is sophisticated in decor. The cliic has its own in-house X-ray and MRI facilities, and a sports physician assists the two surgeons in the assessment and follow up of patients. There is a small research department and the quality of both professional and patient publications is high.

	There are two operating theatres, but most of the surgery is done on a 'day-case' basis with patients leaving hospital the same day.
	Although the private wards are excellent and patients may choose to stay on in excellent adjacent hotels to complete their physio-therapy training.
	In the bedrooms, a fold-down bed is available for a close relative, and each room has an en-suite bathroom.
