Hi All, I had my manipulation done today and must say I'm pleased with the results!! Doctor actually took a photo with my knee bent to 100 degrees rom. It actually is pretty swollen and sore right now but I really can't wait to get back to pt on friday to continue. I must say that this was definately the right thing and would do it again in a second.

Mel, glad to here your back on track! this rehab is full of hills and valleys, I got my ROM brace yesterday, and am very happy with it (hill!), but I'm still dying from the extreme pain in the rear of my knee, its a killer!(valley!) Anyways, I am going on a 8 day cruise on Friday. I hope this is a nice break in the routine of sitting in the house all day.(hill), but am a concerned I won't be able to get comfortable on the ship (valley). This trip was booked prior to my ride down the stairs, and I thought we'd have to cancel, but both the OS and PT think it'll do me a world of good, so away we go! I'll give an update when I get back, I hope everyone stays on the path to recover while I'm away..........Rumman

Hi John, road trip from Toronto to New Jersey tomorrow, sail from New Jersey to Cape Canaveral, onto Bahamas, and then some private island near Bahamas. I'm not planning on getting off ship once on, but was assured that disability assistance is available at each port, if I can get assistance to get on and off ship in New jersey, thats all I want. We've been on this ship before, so we are familiar with the layout, and facilities, I'm hoping my wife gets some time to really relax, she's been a rock between baby sitting me, driving to and from medical appointments while still putting in 50 to 60 hour workweeks, i fear she might burn herself out. I know when this is over, I'm going to have to do something exceptional to show her just how much I appreciate all the help she's given me, I know without her I couldn't function on my own.

Have fun on the cruise rumman. I too was just thinking how i'm gonna make up to my wife as she has been very supportive in the same ways as yours. Was just looking at an email of reduced price cruises so I was thinking that may be the way to go. Good luck.

Mel, I don't know if you've ever been on a cruise, but for us, it's the only way to go. we've been going on a cruise every year for the past several years, you can do everything or nothing. foods great, service is wonderful. I'd be very happy if someone took me on a cruise to show their appreciation for a job well done!.......Rumman

Hi All, I had my first therapy session on Friday and must say that I truly am glad to have the manipulation done on my knee. The gains are unreal. I went into the therapy session with about 77 degrees rom when previously only could get 50 with the therapist pushing on it. When I left yesterday he got me to 90 degrees with no problem and no pain in the knee. I was however having some pain around the knee which the therapist equates to the area where the doctor probably had to hold my leg for the manipulation. I just hope that this continues to a full recovery and 115-120 rom in the end.
